“All the Way” in Wrigleyville – Pearl Jam Rocks Chicago

On August 20th, 2016, Pearl Jam rocked the Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field in Chicago, Illinois, playing not only their hits (and some of my favorites, such as “Corduroy”, and “Mind Your Manners”), but they also brought out a strew of covers, including Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” and The Who’s “Baba O’Riley”, and not to forget the very fitting “All the Way” in one of their three encores, which was very special to hear, and hopefully gives Wrigleyville some good luck, considering it’s a song about how Someday, the Chicago Cubs (the full time tenant of Wrigley Field) will go all the way, and finally win the World Series after a 108+ year drought!

Much like the Inevitable smell of Marijuana, Pearl Jam fever was spreading throughout Wrigleyville all day, with various bars and restaurants in the immediate area blasting the band’s catalog for all the streets to hear. Rather thoughtfully places or not, the band did treat us to a little sound check jam during the afternoon, featuring “Amongst the Waves’, ‘Light Years’, ‘Sad’ and ‘Getaway’, which definitely kept the rooftop bars full of enthusiastic concert goers.
