Not exactly how I expected our first night of our new “Inside the Igloo” series to start, as a matter of fact, the way the Pens handled the Rangers on Tuesday of this sane week (a 3-0 shutout in New York City), I thought we may witness a nice win for the first time in awhile (The Last COTW Pens game was that like 6-1 or something loss to Dallas last year).
Even though the Penguins are still just 2-1-0, keeping them at 1st in in the Metropolitan Division, This was a rough first look – but it is just the first week of the season, so I’m not worried too much….yet….especially because the Pens came out of the gate swinging, with a combined 7 goals in the first two games, while only giving up 3 in that same amount of time (now it’s 8 goals with 9 given up after 3 games). I mean, there were goals from the blue line, goals where Arturs Silovs was literally in the back of the net as the rangers were shooting on him, and we got to see Adam Fox score twice, as well as Mika Zibanejad score his 251st goal.
Pens Highlight of the night: Ben Kindel scored his first NHL goal! which you can see in our video recapping the night down below!
anyway, onto the next! we’ll be back in the Igloo on October 21st as the Penguins take on the Vancouver Canucks at 7pm EST!
