After missing out on the best Cheesesteaks in the universe in Philadelphia, because a large man fell on me at the Pittsburgh show (again, Long story), I was able to enjoy the best fluffy pizza in the universe, as we rejoin the “Skeletour” on Thursday night (July 24th) in Detroit, Michigan, at Little Caesars Arena.
Today’s Behind the Scenes Topic: Changes in the night
The Night started off with confusion, rather it be a late decision, or a Ticketmaster flub, the arena was not selling the seats above club level (usually where I like to hang out), so My pass was “rebuked” (kinda) and reassigned to am ADA accessible level, which I must say was a much better head-on view.
That was just the beginning of a night of surprises, and changes, as we witnessed our first set list change (at a show we’ve attended – they’ve done it before so I’ve heard, but before we joined the Tour).
A change in the set list is often thought of by those that dabbled in the music industry as either a thing of the past, an every other show plan (look at the set list two shows before yours and it’s the same), or, the mark of a good band.
Dare I bring Primus into this article? You never knew what they were going to play next – with such an extensive catalog, they’d go up on stage and play whatever they wanted, Including other people’s songs.
Well, I’m happy to report, I believe in Ghost’s case, it is the mark of a good band. There really isn’t correlation between the set changes when they occur. We went from Satan Prayer to Ritual to stand by him, and even Elizabeth (for the first time in seven years) during their North Carolina stop.
Here’s the rundown: ” * ” denotes a song change from the previous shows we covered.
