Our Video Highlights!

The Cleveland Monsters, trying to battle back from a now 3-1 series deficit after beating the Hershey bears in game four on Thursday evening, put together another impressive performance on Saturday night.

Stringing together five goals, making the series seem at least a little more manageable (after the previous 3-0 deficit), now at a deficit of 3-2, headed back to Hershey on Monday night.

The Bears went ahead early with the first period ending 1-0 in their favor, But that feat didn’t last very long, with the Monsters scoring four unanswered in the second. The second period onslaught pushed the Bears to pull their starting goalie Hunter Shepard (20 SA / 16 SVS) for his counterpart Clay Stevenson (5 SA / 4 SVS).

The third period action was contained to one more goal by Josh Dunne for the Monsters, giving us a final tally of 5-1 Monsters. Speaking of goalies, on the other end of the ice, Goaltender Jet Greaves was having (dare I say….again) the game of his life, facing 34 Shots on Goal and making 33 Saves. As a matter of fact, Jet was our Player of the game (the chosen player of the three stars of the game) taking the reigns on putting the next “X” on the “Countdown to the Calder Cup” dasher board installed pre-playoffs. I believe the Monster’s success this time, was once again partially due to Gumby, as well as the Cleveland Browns Greg Newsome II – who, of course, were both in attendance.

As previously stated, The Monsters brought the series to a 3-2 tally, still in favor of Hershey. In order for the Monsters to win the East, they have to win the next two games in Hershey (Monday & Wednesday), and if the Bears win one of either of the games, they take the Eastern Conference Crown.
