FNB Field is located on City Island, in the middle of the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, along with a mini golf course, some trained themed areas (?), and numerous boat ramps. After we were finally able to find parking on the small island, we made our way to the very open stadium. I say “very open” stadium, because as we walked in and turned to the right to find some stairs, it led us to the dugout suites, and literally the team’s locker room.

Anyway, we again found our spot on the first base side, and started taking, might I say, amazing photos of the game; SOO amazing as a matter of fact, I was hit in the back with a foul ball that I saw coming, but refused to move (because ACTION SHOTS!!!!). It’s ok though, because I did end up keeping the ball.

As we explored the stadium more, we found historical markings from a 2011 flood, that had to have filled up the stadium, considering where the markings were on (6’0″) Scott. Mind you, this was exactly at field level, on an island.

Anyway, to the reason you’re all here….the fire. Honestly, a simple explanation, I want to say it was around the fifth or sixth inning, a fire alarm started blaring mid-inning. (video below for the full effect).

Causing mass confusion, and a little bit of panic, we decided to NOT evacuate (until asked to) in order to see what was about to happen. Honestly, not much did. We had about 20 minutes of fire alarm noises, a fire truck pull up near the team busses, and players just chilling laying down on the field, just to prolong the game on this 98 degree day.

Oh yea, we were eventually asked to head for the exits, but then stopped, and were told we could hang out on this patio themed area near the exit, with one of my favorite mascots, Rascal the River Monster. I just love his Vibe, like that’s exactly what you’d want for a fuzzy kids character, looking like something from “Monsters Inc.”, AND he’s team colors, AND he fits perfectly with the local lore (being a river monster living on city island) – I purposely don’t use words like “Costume design” or “Actor”, because the last thing I’d want to do is ruin anything for the youngsters, and because he is definitely real. Plus, I have no idea how old the people reading this are, so hopefully the people of-age can substitute those words in that description as needed.

I believe that about wraps up our story. The only other detail I’ve left out (a story for another day) is how we also showed up to the area a day early, and managed to marathon every Hershey park rollercoaster in less than four hours, on a weekend.

Anyway (x2), here’s UNCLE SLAM & OLLIE FROM OLLIE’S BARGAIN OUTLET!!!!
